The Objective 

The objective is considered by some to be the most important part of your résumé.  The objective immediately tells the perspective employer what type of job you are looking for. 

Your object should always contain 3 basic pieces of information.

Job Type (such as Accountant, Electrical Engineer, etc.)
Industry (such as Retail, Banking, Insurance, etc.)
Geographical Area (such as Pacific Northwest, Oregon, Portland area, etc.)

Examples:

• Seeking staff accountant position in the public accounting field in the Boston area.

• Seeking electrical engineering position in the silicon industry in California.

• Seeking multimedia development position. Open to travel and/or relocation.

Your résumé will now look something like this.
