Body
The thank you or follow-up letter should not be more than one
page. Here are some tips that you should be sure to include in the body of
the letter.
-
Express appreciation for the opportunity for the
interview.
If you were given a tour of the facilities or a meeting with other employees,
but sure to mention that.
-
Mention the day of your interview and the position
for which
you interviewed.
-
Re-emphasize your most important skill and how you expect to
contribute to the company.
-
Close your letter with a comment about future contact
with
the employer.
Your letter will now look something like
this without, of course, the boldface print which highlight the points
mentioned above.

Dear Mr. Black:
|
|
|
I appreciated the opportunity to interview at your office on
Monday.
The tour of the facilities and conversations with Tallon's staff
gave me a clear overview of the role of software engineers at your
facility. I was particularly impressed with the state-of-the-art
equipment in Tallon's computer labs and the exciting software
development that is being conducted there.

|
|
The entire experience has confirmed my
desire for employment as an executive
secretary with Tallon Corporation. My internship at a
comparable software company in Columbia has prepared me well for
this position. Based on my interview, I think I would fit in well
with the Tallon staff.

|
Thank you again for the experience of
getting to know your organization better. I would welcome the
opportunity to work for the Tallon Corporation, and I look forward
to hearing from you in the next two weeks.
Sincerely,
Karen Jones
